The Breast Cancer FundIn response to the public health crisis of breast cancer, The Breast Cancer Fund (TBCF) identifies -- and advocates for elimination of -- the environmental and other preventable causes of the disease. Founded in 1992, TBCF works from the knowledge that breast cancer is not simply a personal tragedy, but a public health priority that demands action from all. Every mountain climb we organize- from local peaks to Mt. Shasta -- is dedicated to the women who find the courage to face the disease. Every publication we produce -- from our quarterly newsletter to "State of the Evidence: What is the Connection Between Chemicals and Breast Cancer?" -- is committed to informing and mobilizing a public to be unrelenting in preventing the disease from striking more people. And every program we undertake, from strengthening environmental health policy to organizing International Summits on Breast Cancer and the Environment -- is essential to securing the institutional changes and policy reforms necessary to eliminate the environmental links to breast cancer. With this work TBCF seeks to do justice to the women whose struggle and dedication inspire our resolve. By working together, with daring, dedication, and determination, we can move mountains, one step at a time. |
